BERNIE, WE BEG YOU - JUST STOP IT!

Dear Bernie,

It is over. And you know it.

You no longer have a path to the nomination. The remaining primary states are Biden states. You will not win a brokered convention. The pandemic has changed the rules of the game. There may not even be a convention, and if there is, it may take place in an empty room.

The clown in the White House, who put us here, has turned our world upside down. Governors and mayors are left to save us from the pandemic and from the clown.

You say repeatedly that Donald Trump is an existential threat. Agreed! But we already know this. Saying it no longer matters.

Hospitals will soon be overwhelmed. Heath care workers have become the infantry in this war. The federal government is supposed to be the calvary coming to the rescue. But this is General Custer’s calvary.

The next Great Recession, while still invisible, has already begun. We can only guess the extent of the job loss tsunami that is on course for a direct hit. We can only imagine the pain, suffering, and demoralization that awaits too many of our friends and neighbors – including those true believers who continue to cling to your candidacy.

Senator, you fought the good fight and it mattered. The Progressive movement that you lead will continue its march. This pandemic and this next Great Recession just might bring us one big step closer to your goal of Medicare for All.

Now, be a hero! Resign with honor and join the war against our existential threat – Trump and Trumpism.

You will of course become a royal pain in the ass to President Biden. We expect nothing less.
